I've been with my boyfriend 3 months. Right after we started dating he had an accident and is still recovering from multiple broken bones. When he was in the hospital and i visited him a lot he always told me how much he liked me, and thanked me for being there, complimented my clothes and was really nice in general, and made me feel appreciated. However since being home for the past 2 months he's really not like that anymore. We spend a lot time together -we can't have sex because of his injuries--but he never kisses me or tells me nice things. it's almost as if we skipped the "honeymoon" phase of our relationship. He can't go buy me gifts or take me anywhere because he can't drive due to to his injuries, but he can do everything else. We seem to just talk about him and his condition, and he seems to just ask me how my day was out of politeness or habit. I can't tell if this is the way he is and he's not a mushy overly-affectionate guy, if he's just like this because of his injuries, or if he just doesn't like me enough to feel the urge to do nice things for me. His accident has been hard on me too, because I drive him around, cook for him and help him in every way,and being so supportive has been emotionally draining. He says thank you for the specific things i do for him as a caregiver, but I feel like he doesn't really acknowledge or appreciate me as a dedicated girlfriend. People keep telling me that it's because he's injured, but as he is getting better, this situation isn't changing.

Hi! I bought a guinea from a mom and pop pet store that treats their piggies relatively well last Monday. The lady I usually get them from now lives too far away, that's why we went there. Anyways, I had her out and I thought I noticed two little yellowish bugs moving through her fur. Only two. We called the pet store, and they treated her for lice AND mites. Yesterday, we combed her out with a nit brush and looked allllll over and we found not even one louse. I looked again today and also found none. She does not seem to be itching very often either. However, my concern now it this little patch near her rump that has had these little itty bitty flecks o white on it. They are only in this one area, and they are at the very base of her fur. My mom described it as a scaly patch of skin. She has had these since last Monday, if they were ggs wouldn't they have hatched by now? Do you think she has lice? Strictly speaking no. If your line manager is happy for you to take leave after the fact that is between you and them, but the purpose of the holiday leave regulations are to ensure that employees have sufficient time away from work to be rested, and should normally be taken in blocks of a week or two weeks. Most employers usually require 4 weeks notice for a weeks holiday, and by their nature leave after the fact cannot do that. If you are signed off for a week or more you can apply for Statutory Sick pay, it is not much and you do not get anything for the first 4 days, but it is better than starving.

Strength training for Caregiver?

I need to get really strong in the next few months to help out my sister who has lost the use of her legs. She's in a wheelchair and needs assistance getting moved (in and out of her chair, to bed, the bathroom, etc.). Fortunately I'm not by any means her primary caregiver, but I'd really like to be more useful if I could be. The way she is able to be moved now is by facing her and lifting her up to a standing position, pivoting her and setting her back down where she needs to go. Like bending down to hug her, than lifting her up while she hangs on to to my neck. I'm guessing I need to get strong in my arms, back, and legs. I am a bit taller than her, and she weighs a bit more than me. I can lift her up now, but it's hard, and will get harder as her disease progresses (she has ALS) and she is unable to lock her knees. I'm small boned, thin, tall, mid-30's if that helps. I am not able to join at gym at this time or have access to a home gym. I could spend some money if it would really. Question regarding what I could only call a "Lifetime Deed"?

My grandparent's moved out of their home about 5 years back due to failing health. An acquaintance of the family began visiting them alot. She was having problems with her deceased husband's children regarding the home she was living in at the time. Out of the goodness of his heart my grandfather offered to let her live in their empty home, rent/mortgage free, for the rest of her life if she would help by sitting with and being a general caretaker for my grandmother and himself. My grandmother has since passed, but the woman only spent about 6 months helping, after that she flat out refuses to help. I do not have the "deed" in question in my hands now, but will in a few weeks. I do know that my grandfather trusted her and didn't feel it necessary to put the caretaker/caregiver stipulation into the contract he had drawn up, so in effect that part is only verbal, but it's well known between us and our family. She's also made mention at gatherings and such before to that affect as well on many occasions (showing gratefulness for allowing use of the home for her life in exchange for her caretaking services). It was only signed by the lawyers, himself and herself, even though my mother had at the time and still has power of attorney of my grandfather. My parents cannot get her to help at all with my grandfather, who we've since found out has Alzthimers(sp). She now has a boyfriend who she moved into the house. My parents informed her that he would have to pay rent/mortgage. She got angry and refused, but took her copy of the agreement to her laywer in hopes she'd be in the right, but her lawyer sided with my parents, telling her the agreement was for her and her alone, and anyone else living in the house would have to pay rent. My parents have only (verbally) told them he had to pay $200 a month, which I find crazy because rent for a house in that area is minimum $800 a month, (which would make him responsible for $400). I told them when I found out that they should have a lease drawn up and up his rent. Anyway, after her being angry with them for doing that, as well as her constant demands on my family to make improvements and upgrades to the house (none necessary, all asthetic) she's since gone and changed all the locks in the home. She swears up and down that there never was an agreement for her to help care for my grandparents. The home is still in my grandfather's name. What happens when he passes away and it gets put in my Father and Uncle's names, and eventually passed on to myself, my brother and my cousin. Is that agreement(contract) null and void? Just seems to me that legally a new property owner can't be forced to uphold an agreement, contractual or not, that was made with the previous owner. At the very least seems to me that when he passes my parents could draw up a new agreement. I know they couldn't legally evict her, but seems to me that just like when a rental property changes ownership and a new lease has to be drawn up, this is the same. Ideally if they do draw up paperwork stating she would now be responsible for paying "rent" (as the house is paid off w/ no mortgage), and she refuses, can they did ask her to leave? Also, since the house isn't in her name and she's only being "allowed" to live there and changed locks without the owner's knowledge or ok....does that make that agreement null and void??? Thanks!

My husband and I were having sex, and I got very painful BH contractions during and of course after. I am a disabled Veteran with a service dog. I bought my home in a specific community because they advertised an amenity for dogs to run and play (legal reasons I have to phrase it that way). After the first year in this new development I began to ask how long it would be to have this amenity built. I got a location from a member of the development team. I checked the site plan, there was no mention of this amenity of the site plan. I was furious. I was now almost 3 yrs behind in applying for my successor service dog because you have to have a place for the dog to exercise - this is a requirement for most reputable organizations that train service dogs. The county repeatedly told me they had never seen a plan including a dog park in my community. So I thought this was clearly fraud. 2 weeks before court, the county changes its story and says that there is an amenity but it's in a different location than what I was told. The location was next to the soccer field. Interestly enough the site plan clearly shows the soccer field but does not show the amenity for dogs. I then spoke with the utilities company that controlled the transmission lines. The rep told me that he had worked on this community from the beginning and had never heard of this amenity. He said that the developer would've had to get permission to build anything through the tranamission lines. My attorney said we couldn't move forward and that I should settle. This was a couple years ago. I got word 2 days ago that the amenity had been built. I went to check it out. It is a fence around air on top of grass. There are no trees to shade the dogs, there are no benches for owners to sit at, there are no water bowls. There is simply a fence. I asked if they were going to install trees and was told they can't because of the overhead power lines. I think they lied, I think some county rep helped them lie. There's no way they would've planned to build this amenity where dogs can exercise without trees for shade and without the ability to ever have trees planted. I believe they scrambled and did this because if it wasn't on the site plan it would've clearly been deem fraud, so I think they did some underhanded revamping of the site plan and just stuck the fence up and said 'there you go.' How can I find out if there was actually deception here?

GBS+ Fear for my baby b/c hospital doesn't seem to care like I do?

My caregiver told me that if I come in before my contractions are 5 minutes apart, they would only send me right out and back home. They wouldn't even check for dilation. This is my third pregnancy and my second with GBS+. So I can't even begin IV antibiotics until they admit me at 5 min apart. I'm scared I won't have the 4 hrs necessary. When I brought up my fears, the midwife said well women don't get the antibiotics all the time, and I've never seen a baby get sick. And I asked if they would give the baby antibiotics if I wasn't treated, and she told me no. So basically, I have to hope that I have 4 hrs after they admit me before I give birth. They don't seem to care, and they won't do anything unless my baby gets sick, which is a serious infection. I looked at her nearly crying and asked, so you aren't going to do anything unless my baby becomes infected and gets sepsis, pneumonia, or meningitis and her life is in danger? And she just kept saying that the baby won't get sick even if I don't get antibiotics. By this point I'm crying and said I don't want to lose my baby. Still the same answer. If I go in at 5 min apart, what are my chances of having enough time? What dilation were you at that point? I know every woman has a different experience, but I guess I'm looking for some sort of reassurance. I'm 39 wks, this is a military hospital, and I have no choice but to go there. So I'm not permitted to look for another hospital/doctor that would make me feel better about my baby's care. So please no answers about doing what's best for my baby and going somewhere else. I can't, oh how I wish I could. My baby, my children, mean more to me than anything.

I just lost my father to COPD. I took care of him at home for 2 months til his final breath on 4/20/2011 @ 5:00am. I was there til the end as his Hospice caregiver. I am the oldest of 4. I have not cried once yet. I have teared up, but not fully let go of my emotions. My father always taught me to be strong. I am now fighting depression, and I feel like I am losing. I had a good relationship with my dad and was always there for him and vica versa, I do feel closer to my mother, she has always been there for me. I can't imagine the pain if I was to loose her. So maybe this is a stage of denial, or just selfishness im not sure. But I hope it passes so I can go on with my life. I'm afraid this is gonna effect my marriage also. he's a baby honey, and he doesn't really know you. and for that matter, you don't know what his little life has been like since birth. maybe he reacts differently to your husband because maybe his own mother was cruel to him and so now he just prefers men over women. that doesn't mean to say that over time he won't grow to love you, it just means that right now he wants what is most familiar to him and what makes him feel safe. and also, it could be that he is also picking up on your nervousness of the situation if that makes sense. hes been like this from the beginning right? and every time he acts this way with you it has to tense you up even more right? well, the more you tense up, the more he is going to pick up on it, and the more he is going to push you away. somehow you need to figure out how to not let it bother you as much. learn how to breath through it and accept it for what it really is. he isn't being this way towards you because of you personally, how could he be, he doesn't really know you. babies are very intuitive, they can pick up on a persons feelings and emotions just like that. he feels your stress in these situations and its making it worse.. my suggestion is to continue to take really good care of him, and when you are doing that, try to talk to him in a loving voice, be silly for him, for example, when you are changing a diaper, sing a silly song to him, make silly faces and try to get him to laugh or smile. when you are feeding him talk to him, tell him a funny story, you can connect with him just using your words at first and let him warm to you that way. oh, and when he is letting your husband love on him, maybe you could try to love on your husband at the same time, you know, your hubby is holding the little boy, so you come up and hug the husband. if he see's that this man that he has accepted loves you then maybe he will start to warm up to you the way he has him... but don't lose hope, and don't give up on him. he's little, and he's confused and just trying to get used to his new surroundings.. just keep taking great care of him, and give him time, he will come around eventually.

I love the fact that i can just go on youtube and listen to music. But its not like i can take my computer with me when i go on walks. I wanna listen to music when i walk, and i take long walks too, so that's even more frustrating.. I'm only 15 so i can't pay for iTunes and my parents don't want to anyways because they have money issues to begin with. I have an Mp3 but it has old songs and theres only about 70 songs on there. I had an interview for a caregiver position on May 3rd and on May 5th I got a call saying I got the job. They wanted me to come in for orientation on May 7th so that I could fill out my W-4s and go over company policies, ect. How do I deal with my defiant 11 year old? I can't take it anymore.?

Hi, well first of all let me say I am 21 years old and female. I have a huge complex with my nose and it's not something that just got to me now. You see ever since I was younger I never really like my nose. My face is small and for some reason I feel like my nose is not right. So the bridge is ok but my nose tip is very pointy and the lenght of the tip seems to be larger than it should be. Kinda makes me look nosey. I've also noticed that my nose is tilted a bit to one side and when I look at my nostrils, One of my nostrils has a bump on the nasal septum wall and the other one doesn't. I find it quite odd and I'm guessing that's why my nose is tilted a bit. I would like to fix it someday in the future and reduce the tip too but I'm a bit scared to go under the knife one day and get punished because of my vanity or stupid complex. I'm just really uncomfortable with my nose and I always try to use make up to create illusion of a smaller tip and lenght but it's hard. Is it wrong for me wanting to look a certain way? I have a lot of time to think about it but at the same time I just wanna stop obsessing over my nose and take the risk. Can anyone tell me if they had any experience with rhinoplasty. What was it like after the surgery? Did it hurt a lot? How swollen was it? What are the pros and cons?

okay i've been seeing a doctor for an eating disorder for about 2 years, a few months ago was really the worst i lost a ton of weight extremely quickly and they were actually frightened by how much i lost so quickly i used to deny till i was blue in the face that i had an eating disorder but i finally accepted it and got the help i needed but im struggling once again, the clinic closed that i went to and i was supposed to be transfered but that never happened.. i was considered "high risk" so for them to drop me like that knowing i'd go right back to my old ways is in my opinion not professional on their part... opinions?

Why is it selfish to not want children?

What can I do to make my rabbit like my boyfriend?

Self reliance for an artistic child?

My younger cousin is autistic he is a 13 year old boy. His abilities to change are lacking in some areas in others he can cope, but since i can remember they have waited hand and foot since birth to today. Off shore lifting equipment certificate?

Hope someone can please help. How does a lifting certificate for off shore differ from an on site insurance inspection certificate? I had a lifting company on site Today to carry out our 6 Monthly inspection on our lifting equipmnet (Slings, Eye-Bolts, Shackles Etc.) Prior to Today if i was ever shipping lifting gear off shore i would send a copy of the original certificate along with a copy of the 6 Monthly inspection certificate if the equipment had expired from the base certification date. But Today i was told the 6 Monthly inspection certificate was for use of the lifting gear On Site & On Site only if the equipment was being shipped off shore another inspection would have to be carried out & new certificate produced. Is this correct? how can the integrity of the lifting gear be deemed fit for purpose at my place of work yet need a diferent inspection, certificate for shipping to an oil platform.

I know how much it hurts. Take all of your valuables that you bought out of there ( no matter whose room they are in) and find a place to store them like I did. If you didn't buy it, leave it there. Playing movies through PS3?

Ok, so im going off to college in a few months and my college does not allow the use of bittorents, torrents, or any other "Illegal" downloading software (Obviously). I Keep Changing My Kids From Daycare To Daycare All The Time!! HELP!?

I have two kids, a 5 year old girl and a 4 month old boy. My husband and I are experiencing extreme difficulty with finding adequate people to care for our children while we work during the day. My daughter who is now 5 has had issues with day cares since she was 3. The first time she went, something inappropriate happened and it was all due to lack of supervision by the teacher and that teacher ended up getting fired. We moved her away from that daycare to another one, well the nap time teacher use to hit her and and squeeze her cheeks when she would not nap, so we left that daycare, for a few months she stayed with a relative and that worked out fine for a little bit, then she went to another daycare after that and she told me that another nap time teacher would pinch her if she didn't take a nap. This was only a couple of months ago. When I came off of maternity leave with my son I put him in a home daycare with a lady who had one other child. Everything seemed to be going fine until one day she cut his hair off with a pair of scissors (don't ask me why, I don't know). we immediately left there, finally we decided to leave daycare altogether and put them in a home daycare together. Everything seemingly was going ok until my daughter started to tell me that some of the other little kids got spankings from the caregiver and her husband with a switch. Then today, she told me that the caregiver hit her with a switch for not sharing. I was shocked. When I asked her why she spanked her she said it was b/c she would not share her toys. I then asked her why she did not tell me this yesterday and she said it was b/c she was afraid she would get in trouble b/c she did not share her toys. I am so shocked, and just out of answers. I have uprooted my kids so many times over the last couple of years that I am afraid that I am damaging my kids. I don't have a life. No, seriously. My parents wanted some sort of genius child so they put me in an accelerated school and I graduated high school at 13. Now I'm almost 15 and in my second year of college, and I'm just so sad and apathetic about everything. I have no social skills whatsoever, hence no friends, and I only get out of the house to be driven by one of my parents to university and back. I'm sort of a pre-law student and need to do extra-curricular activities but everything that's available I'm too young to apply for. I have a 4.0 but I'm scared to death of getting an A- because my parents will treat me like sh*t for it. I worry about everything and hate myself so much. Was I born to be lonely and unhappy? I feel like natural selection picked me as a prime example of the asocial mutant. I'm so bored, sick and tired of my life. It's really just a case of overwhelming apathy and disgust with life. I don't even want to be a lawyer or anything "successful" as deemed by society. I'd like to drop out and work at some underpaid job in a coffee shop in Seattle and live in a small apartment filled with library books, cats and unpublished manuscripts. Problem is I'm only 14 and my parents are going to send me to some expensive law school as soon as or before I turn 18. I'm trapped. I don't want this life. I don't want any of it.

LAPD Appeal Denied - What now?

I have a question regarding what happens after the review panel has seen an appeal and denies it. Let me give some insight as how I got to this point. I have been going through the hiring process with LA City since Dec 09, experiencing various delays along the way but I remained dedicated to the process. I have been successful throughout the entire process up until my psych interview when it was determined that I neglected to mention a previous work injury (approx 10 years ago) during my medical evaluation. My medical appointment was before I even had a sit down meeting with my BI, so from a medical standpoint I don't even think of this injury simply because it has been non issue for almost 9 years. When I met with my BI I did disclose the work injury to account for time out of work and workers comp payments received. The Background department checked into the injury and my claim against my previous employer and deemed it to be legitimet and cleared me from the background process. My medical exam went flawlessly, they would have never known I had the injury if I didn't mention it; I passed all aspects of their testing components. As a result, I appealed this decision to remove me from the process; they based their initial decision on a concern of my integrity. With my appeal I submitted approx 13 letters of recommendation / referrence from friends in various occupations ranging from police officers to doctors and city attorneys - there was even one from the Govenor's office. My oversight of mentioning this work injury during my medical process was not an intention to decieve in any way, it just is something that is far from my mind - medically speaking. Perhaps if I had the interview with my BI first it would have been more in the front of my mind since I disclosed it to them. Ok, here's my question - if the appeal was denied how do you keep fighting? I'm a firm believer that if something is worth having it is absolutely worth fighting for. I'm fighting for my career and a better life for my family so I have every incentive to push as much as I can. The interesting part about this is the background department is on my side, they believe this to be a technicality that medical services decided to blow up unnecessarily. I'm willing to do whatever, write to whoever, I just need some advise and direction. Any help anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and help.

DS: Is prey drive acceptable behaviour or deemed to be aggression?

I have nice dogs. They are very good with people and well trained. However they have very high prey drive. A hunting dog is not a hunting dog without prey drive. The best hunting dogs have very high prey drive. Prey drive is genetic. You can't put it in a dog that doesn't have it. You can't take it out of a dog that has it. All you can do is manage it and train the dog the proper way to express it. Prey drive does not equal aggression. More aggression is based more on fearfulness then on prey drive in my opinion.

got married and his daughter who was his caregiver is still living in the house that her Dad was living in too. I heard this. And also they could take the stuff and throw it out the door since the demented person, (my Dad) didn't have the capability to choose items. His fiduciary bought the items and asked me for advice on every single item. They were bought for Daddy's comfort and mine since I am disabled. Sorry to hear that you're going through stress with the working out of your health, having an operation and understandably...thoughts about the afterlife. First all of your questions are valid...Adam and Eve, story of Noah's ark, Muslims practices and treatment of women....what I would say to you is that this in the end is not about an intellectual exercise. Even if I could answer all of your questions point by point...then new questions would come up. The largest issue here (I believe) is relationship. If you know God...then that trumps all of the intellectual questions b/c after all ...dying is not so much an intellectual exercise is it? Dying is about facing a "journey". When I die I will no longer be here. Where will I be? I cannot push a button, sprinkle some fairy dust or any such thing to get God to "perform". My first encouragement is to go to Him. I'm serious...all of these questions and things you're thinking about...no pretending...just lay it all out in front of Him. (After all if he is who He claims to be...He can handle all of that and more.) Ask Him to clarify some of these things and be truthful about your skepticism or fear (or both). The second encouragement is to find a live human who you trust who you could sit face to face with and have a conversation. These are very important questions. I hope that even in a small way this is helpful.

If your state has an In Home Support Services type of program and they can qualify you by your physical need for someone, you can get a person who is paid by the state. Other than that, there is no government program to give caregivers for anyone except under Medicare for a very limited time after surgery or rehabiitation.

Don't feel like you have failed as a caregiver. My cousin has Augsburg's syndrome (i know that this can not compare to epilepsy) and she had to repeat the fourth grade this year. It was because she would not do her work and acted out in school. Now she tries hard and is working towards not acting out as much. There will always be those mean kids out there that are going to call people names and hurt there feelings. But maybe your niece would try harder if you made her repeat the fifth grade. Also ask the teacher what you can do to help the child in school and with her work. Just hang in there and don't blame yourself.

You've done OK so far having your own car with no strings attached, so buy another new car- all your own. If your mom wants to spend $1000/month on rental cars, she needs to trade in her Camry on a Sienna and feel what she likes to feel in a bigger vehicle. Maybe she can work it all out without complicating your life. She has so much money for rentals, she can pay off her Camry if she wants to.
