I'm a right to feel that my boyfriend of 4 years should include me as apart of his Mother's day event or not?

My boyfriend and I lived together along with My two children, We are a communal family and all activities are done with and for each other as well as the kids. Every year he does not get me anything for Mother's day and his reasoning is "I'm not his Mother Nor do I have kids by him so he's not obligated to do anything for me for Mother's day" (sidebar he has two adult kids from a previous marriage) I may get a card out of respect however there is NO special treatment NO breakfast in Bed etc. Am I wrong to feel offended when I'm the caregiver of the house that takes care of everyone including him physically, emotionally, im supportive in every aspect, This One Special Day Hurts me dearly because his reasoning to me is so irrational and not thought out.
