Marrying a girl from philippines?

Someone I know plans a trip to Philippines to find a wife, who will love him, help his physical work in Israel (a hostel), and "take care of him" when he gets older as a caregiver. He is 40 something Israeli, and with VERY strong personality so he seems not being able to find women to get along with him in his country. He wants specifically a philippina lady, not thai, chinese, vietnamise, because he thinks (or just stereotype) philipina are great in sense of humor and easy going, according to his journey experience back in 90s. Sure they can be very nice people but I think he is not considering anything that can come from cultural differences and mentalities at all. In fact, his only cultural experience was on months travelling, and people he talked were only local bar girls. Anyone familiar with their culture? I think he is wanting a happy true love, but can this wife seeking trip be successful without being ripped off??
