Texas Caregiver info please...?

I have a friend who is young and has Rheumatoid Arthritis. Her son has a form of aspergers, and between her son and her, she gets 49 1/2 paid hours from the state. She still has to get all the stuff taken care of, but she said she should be ready to use me in two weeks. I didn't get to ask her anymore questions because she had to get off the phone. Anyway, my question is, will I need to be certified, or is it okay for her to use me? and Does anyone know how much they pay?
