Job searching help. What does this mean?
Monday (June 6) I went up to Waltonwood at 12 Oaks in Novi, MI to apply for a job. The secretary's exact words when I asked if they were hiring were "We are accepting applications for the positions of caregiver & waitress in the restaurant." To me, "accepting applications" usually means they are not hiring at that present moment but the secretary gave me specific positions that they were accepting applications for. So should I expect that they ARE hiring for those positions even though those weren't her exact words? & on another note it is now Wednesday June 8 so when should I call & check on my application status? & what can I do to make myself stand out? I already turned in my resume with the application which wasn't a necessity. Any ideas or suggestions??
