How can i get the charges drop on my husband in GA?

I call the cops during an augment.I never press charges or sign anything but the cops decide to press charges.Down here i guess its legal.i'm from rochester ny and know nothing of the like.My husband is not made to handle jail very well.he can barely handle everyday life.Due to the charges there is a no contact restrain order until he goes to court or charges are dropped.Due to it Falling under domestic violence is there a difference then if it fell in in another area?I do not want charges,i do not want him in jail,and i'm angry that the cops can over step to do this.He needs me,i'm afraid hes going to have a panic attack that looks like someone having a seizure.this happens when he gets to overwhelmed.I need to have the charges drop but how since it was the cops who deiced, not me.He can do what anybody can but he don't handle stress well at all,he needs guidance to stay out of trouble and not to be use,i've been his wife and caregiver and Protector in areas that he lacks skills,mature,and common sense.without me there to help him when need he gets to overwhelmed and usually gets hurt or used.i live in fitzgerald Ga and do not want the charges on my husband and i need them drop.If anyone knows of anything on how to get them drop please reply.
