Can I work imdependently as a caregiver without being employed by an agency?

I am very good in caregiving(seniors) and have lots of caregiving experience. Is there anyway I can do inorder to become an independent or let's say self-employed caregiver without being employed by home care agencies? Can I get a license or permit to do that? And if I can a license, how much does it costs. I appreciate very much your answers. May God bless you.
